How do I get the EPP or Authorization Code to transfer my domain?

The EPP or Authorization Code that you require in order to transfer your domain can be found after you log in to your account at your current domain registrar's. Depending on your registrar, the exact method to obtain your EPP may vary. Below are the steps to obtain EPP from the top ten domain registrars:

1. NameCheap
  1. Log into your NameCheap 'Manage Domains' section.
  2. Click on the domain name you wish to be transferred.
  3. When 'Modify Domain' screen appears, select 'Registrar Lock' from the left sidebar menu.
  4. Click on the 'Get EPP Code' link on the same screen.
  5. In the form that appears, enter the domain name to be transferred and your account password to authenticate yourself.
  6. Click on the 'Get EPP code for my domain' button. The authorization code will be sent to the Admin email address.

2. BlueHost
  1. Log in to your Bluehost cPanel account.
  2. Select Domain from the top.
  3. Select the domain from the list.
  4. Click on the EPP Transfer tab on the right.
  5. Here, you will see the EPP code which will be required to initiate the transfer.
3. HostGator
  1. Log in to your HostGator domain management page.
  2. Once you have logged in, click 'Manage Domains'.
  3. You will see a list of domains that you have registered. Click the one for which you would like the EPP code.
  4. Under Overview, you will see EPP code in the list of details for your domain name.

4. GoDaddy
  1. Login to your GoDaddy account.
  2. Next to 'Domains', click on 'Manage'.
  3. Select the domain for which you need an Auth Code.
  4. Click 'Email my code' in the 'Authorization Code' field.
  5. Confirm that information displayed regarding the domain you wish to transfer is correct and click 'Send'.

5. Hover
  1. Log into your Hover Account.
  2. Click on the domain name you wish to get the EPP Code for.
  3. In the 'Authorization Codesection, note down your transfer authorization code, or click on 'Copy Link' to copy it to your computer’s clipboard so you can paste it later.

6. Gandi
  1. Sign in to your Gandi Account.
  2. Go to 'My Account' section, choose 'Domains' and click on the domain name you would like to get the EPP code for.
  3. Click on the link that says 'Authorization Key'.
  4. The EPP code will appear in the window that opens up.
7. DreamHost
  1. Sign in to your DreamHost account.
  2. Click on 'Domains' in your Panel.
  3. Click on 'Reg. Transfer'.
  4. The following page would show a list of all your domains. Click on 'Reveal Auth Code' next to the domain you wish to transfer.

8. Name
  1. Log into your account
  2. Click on the domain name you want to get the EPP code for
  3. The EPP Code will be displayed at the bottom of the grid on the Domain Management Page

9. 1and1
  1. Log in to your 1&1 Control Panel and select the relevant package.
  2. Click 'Domains' in the left side menu.
  3. Click the 'Actions' icon next to the desired domain to display a list of domain options. Then, select 'Renewal & Transfer'.
  4. Click the 'Show Authorization Code' link.
  5. Your authorization code will be displayed.

10. Network Solutions
  1. Log on to your account
  2. Click on 'My Domain Names' under the 'My Products and Services' tab.
  3. Click the domain name you want to get the EPP Code for.
  4. From the 'Domain Details' section, select 'Request Authorization Code' and then click 'Save'.
